New Faculty Orientation Workshop

To help new faculty members become familiar with the NTHU campus environment, the university organizes a New Faculty Orientation Workshop each year during the week prior to the start of the fall semester. The program invites the President and directors of various administrative offices to introduce important aspects of the university, including campus environment, student affairs, general administration, teaching resources, gender equity issues, personnel matters, international affairs, and research and development services.

In addition, senior professors from different colleges are specially invited to share their years of teaching and research experience, highlight the characteristics of NTHU students, and introduce relevant resources for teaching and research. During the camp, new faculty members are encouraged to raise questions, engage in two-way interaction with administrative directors and senior professors, and exchange ideas with fellow new colleagues.

The orientation camp is designed to provide new faculty with a concrete and in-depth understanding of the NTHU campus, to address potential challenges in adaptation, and to clarify questions about the university’s operations. This helps shorten the adjustment period and offers a direct introduction to the campus environment and culture.

Feedback from past participants has been overwhelmingly positive. They have found the orientation program to be informative and resourceful, providing valuable insights into teaching and research resources, and serving as an important reference for planning their future careers in teaching and research at NTHU.
