2009 年本校通過「國際開放式課程聯盟（Open Course Ware Consortium，OCWC）的審查，成為「國際開放式課程聯盟」會員之一。Open Course Ware (OCW)本意是知識的開放與分享，中文譯為「開放式課程」。由學校單方向提供自學資源與知識，由自學者自我訂定學習目標，並自行決定學習方式與內容，與函授或是遠距教學完全不同，且非為課程。

本中心邀請榮獲傑出教學獎之教師及教學單位參與製作、培養數位內容協製人才、建置數位典範課程以及構建自由軟體課程平台。讓參與之教師無後顧之憂的專注於學術與教學上，也讓優質的課程資源得以公開，讓所有人都能夠平等、自由的接觸知識，進行自我學習，並達到終身學習的目標。

In 2009, our university passed the review of the Open Course Ware Consortium (OCWC) and became a member of the Open Course Ware Consortium. The original meaning of Open Course Ware (OCW) is the openness and sharing of knowledge, translated into Chinese as “開放式課程 (Open Course).” It refers to the provision of self-learning resources and knowledge unilaterally by the university, where self-learners set their own learning goals and decide their own learning methods and content. It is completely different from correspondence or distance education, and it is not a formal course.

Our Center invites teachers and academic units who have received the Distinguished Teaching Award to participate in the production, to cultivate talents in digital content co-production, to establish exemplary digital courses, and to build open-source course platforms. This allows participating teachers to focus on their teaching and research without worries, while enabling high-quality course resources to be made public. In this way, everyone can equally and freely access knowledge, engage in self-learning, and achieve the goal of lifelong learning.
